Wolfgang Puck
SAA was initially hired to program and design a new dining facility for Faculty Club members and for the Athletic Department. The location was on the 2nd floor of the existing Ackerman Union Building at UCLA. Subsequently, UCLA opted to lease space to noted restaurateur,Wolfgang Puck. The $2.3M project was completed 2013. The design for the new 4,000 SF Dining Facility provides seating for 100 indoors. The new garden terrace accommodates a BBQ cooking area and an additional 72 seats in the shade under super-sized umbrellas. Exterior egress from the terrace was carefully reviewed and designed with a new staircase to accommodate the new terrace patrons as well as the egress from above.
